Beads, sequins, and cotton – the simple ingredients to uplifting any garment or creating a beautiful artwork. Dive into the world of embroidery and embellishments with the three-hour workshop by Andrea from atelier andrea.
As part of our Opening Weekend celebrating our new location of De Steek, Andrea (manager of this new location) will host a brand new embellishments workshop. In this workshop you will discover the simple way in which you can uplift your embroidery handwork by adding embellishments. There is space for you to play with different techniques and materials to create a beautiful artwork. You will learn how to work with beads, sequins and other alternative materials.
Below are some the techniques and stitches you will learn and use:
Day 1:
> Fabric painting
> Couching
> Fabric Collage
> Sewing on Sequins
> Sewing on Beads
> General Basic Embroidery Stitches
It is helpful if you have some embroidery or handwork experience, however, it is not essential to join the workshop!
The workshop includes all the materials and needle. If you’d like to purchase the embroidery hoop to continue your embroidery journey at home, you’re welcome to do so.
This class takes place in our studio in Amsterdam De Pijp: Eerste Jacob van Campenstraat 40h in Amsterdam.
