Beginner Tufting Workshop by Monique Clara (Amsterdam West)

Start tufting! Now possible at De Steek! Our favourite tufting and punch needling artist Monique Clara will occupy our pop-up workshop space at Van der Hoopstraat 84H to showcase her work and hold different inspiring tufting sessions. One of those is this, almost private, beginner tufting workshop. Only two spots available to work on a 45 x 45 cm frame to create your own art work with a tufting gone.
All materials are provided in this one-day workshop. Choose one of the time slots in this pop-up week and get inspired! Vegan lunch is also included.
Beginner-friendly: Learn tufting machine use, rug finishing techniques Participants take home a completed rug.

Pre-Workshop Prep:
Participants will choose from our yarn colour selection and submit their design ahead of time. The design will be projected and drawn onto the frame before the workshop begins, so everything is ready upon arrival. Send your design to info@desteekamsterdam.nl.

We also offer the possibility for 2 people to rent the tufting gun and larger frame during this week! If you dream of making a larger tuft art work, this could be your chance! What is possible:
• Use the large frame (200 x 140 cm) for two people
• Maximum final rug size: 90 x 140 cm per person
• Schedule: you can work on it on weekdays between 4 – 8 PM and Friday/Sunday between 1 PM – 5 PM (June 30 – July 6)
• All materials included
• Participants must pre-select design and yarn colours so materials can be prepared in advance.
