Natural Dyeing Workshop: Eco-Print Fabric by Atelier Nachtvlinder

Level: beginner
Materials included
5 hour workshop
Language: English & Dutch

Design and create your own eco-printed fabrics for a future project — from garments to interior pieces.

During this 5 hour workshop, you will eco-print 1.5 metres of linen and 1.5 metres of cotton, intended for your own creative project — either at home or further developed at De Steek with guidance of Annastasia of Atelier Nachtvlinder.

We will learn the step-by-step process of eco-printing and explore all aspects of the technique. You will experiment with the intensity of natural pigments and discover which plants respond best to different natural fibres.

Alongside the practical process, we will explore the origins of the plants we work with. Through storytelling, shared research, and exchanging knowledge within the group, a rich and grounded learning experience emerges.

While the fabrics are steaming, we take time to sketch and reflect on your future design or project. This way, you will leave not only with unique textiles, but also with a clear creative direction.
