In this 1 day workshop you will make a baby summer shortall with matching bucket hat from an old button-down shirt.
The summer set is especially designed for multiple sewing levels. If you are a confident beginner you can focus on making the shortall and choose an easy finish. The bucket hat is a bit more advanced but with guidance from Itske also still manageable for the confident beginner.
Baby size options :
Size 62: 0-3 months
Size 68: 3-6 months
Size 74: 6-9 months
Size 80: 9-12months
If you bring your own button-down shirt, make sure to check if it’s made from cotton fibre, this is more comfortable on a baby’s skin than polyester for instance.
What’s included:
– All materials are included (there will be shirts available to upcycle, however, if you have your own shirt you’d like to use, you’re more than welcome to bring it along!)
– The pattern of the bucket hat will be shared for you to make (again) at home
– Use of sewing machine, serger, sewing thread and multiple sewing tools.
– Some materials like elastic tape and fusible interlining
– A lovely vegan lunch, as well as tea/coffee and cookies (we will have a one hour lunch break)
Level:
– Confident beginner / Intermediate; you’ve worked with a sewing machine before, know the basic stitches and sewn several items
Language:
– English & Dutch
