Dive into the world of upcycling and give your clothes a second life!

During this 4-day workshop series you will focus on learning the basics of upcycling, specifically by re-imagining your own garments. Turning your shirt into a skirt, upgrade your grandpa’s blazer or making a patchwork top out of fabric scraps.

Every day we will focus on a different item or upcycling technique:
Day 1: Shirts
Day 2: Blazers and jackets
Day 3: Denim
Day 4: Patchwork

This workshop aims to extend the lifecycle of garments that we otherwise would tend to not wear anymore or even dispose. From small alterations to entirely transforming the item you bring with you, together with our designer Michelle Reulink you will learn how to give it more purpose and value whilst at the same time having fun and discover the designer from within.

Please bring items from your own closet that you want to upcycle. We will also provide old clothes, fabrics scraps and some other sewing supplies that you need in class. Complete beginners are also welcome.

About Michelle
Ever since she was a little girl, Michelle had a great passion for fashion. At the age of 9, after her aunties taught her how to sew, she quickly realised that she wanted to continue on her creative journey. She has developed a strong passion for sustainability and, in particular, upcycling; now a focus both professionally and personally. You can usually find Michelle in her studio, either designing and making garments from scratch, or using an already existing item as a canvas for an upcycling project. By teaching, Michelle loves thinking along with people of all ages and talents to help them to discover the designer within.
