Learn how to make your own quilting art piece from fabric scraps!

What are we going to do?
In this one day workshop are going to create a quilt block using the improv quilting technique, which is great for beginners wanting to learn how to piece fabric together without following the usual set of rules. The final measurement, including the frame, is an A4.

What are we going to learn?
1. How to sew together random pieces of fabric with different dimensions and shapes to create a quilt
block.
2. How to quilt said block using a layer of wadding at the back.
3. Basic quilting terms, best tools for beginners and block piecing techniques.
4. You will also leave the course with instructions on how to recreate your piece of art again at home as well
as a summary of everything else you have learned at the workshop.

Materials
All materials are included for this workshop, although you can bring your own quilting cotton scraps if you
want. Included in the course are: fabric for the quilt top, batting for the back of the piece, thread, the use of
a sewing machine, presser feet, quilting tools, rotary cutter, cutting mat and the usual sewing tools.
*Fabrics used during the workshop might differ to the ones in the pictures.

About Ana
Ana is a sewing and quilting teacher based in the Netherlands. She studied pattern cutting and professional sewing skills in the London College of Fashion where she started her own independent sewing pattern company, CocoWawa Crafts. Ana designs dressmaking and quilting patterns for the modern maker and loves many other crafts like knitting, embroidery and cross-stitch.
