Studio De Steek is located in the heart of the beautiful European Capital: Amsterdam! Accessible by bike, tram, bus or car, this charming site is ready to give you a warm welcome. The premises include the shop with eco-friendly fabrics and tools, the Sewing Cafe and the workshop studio. When the warmer weather arrives, a small garden is also available for sunbathing, refreshments and continuing the activity outside. De Steek welcomes you all year round from Tuesday to Sunday.

And for the little ones who would like to learn more, there is a special slot for them on Wednesday afternoons. Sewing can be learned at any age, just walk through the door and we’ll teach you everything you need to know and help you with every project.

We offer you the opportunity to rent a table in our studio to work independently on your project, or to rent a table with the guidance of a fashion designer to help you with your sewing projects.
7. EVERYTHING YOU NEED AT YOUR DISPOSAL
Machines, materials, tools, patterns. We provide you with many elements in our studio so that you can carry out your project. As for fabrics, you can bring your own or buy them directly in our shop on site. We have a wide range of fabrics, in different colors, materials and looks. We work with various well-known partner brands who also supply us with various fabrics. New products are regularly added to our website and available in our shop.
8. DE STEEK: A COMMITTED BRAND
DE STEEK is also committed to the environment and has a shop where you can find natural, organic and recycled fabrics. We also offer good quality sewing supplies and books. We have developed our own collection of patterns that are available for sale, as well as our own sewing kits. It is also possible to buy these materials online in our online shop

At DE STEEK, no stress. We guarantee you a moment of relaxation in a friendly and caring atmosphere. You will be surrounded by professionals who will always be there to help you and give you personal advice. Snacks and drinks are available in our Cafe area and with some of the workshops we offer lunch included.
10. WOMEN’S ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Behind this young company is a woman, Natalie, 33 years old, and an enthusiastic young entrepreneur. She is also the head designer of De Steek’s own pattern collection, sold on this webshop as sewing patterns. Natalie studied fashion design. First a Bachelor’s degree at the Utrecht School of Arts. After that she also finished a Master’s degree at ArteZ in Arnhem. She first developed two other concepts before De Steek. The first one was I am Nold, a company with which she taught sewing lessons and workshops in Amsterdam. The second one was PULP, a platform and concept store that sold repurposed and recycled fabrics. With De Steek, the two old concepts were combined in one studio in Amsterdam!
